We’re doing the Daniel Fast! EEK!!! 😬
As we embark on a new year, we want to take our spiritual, physical, and emotional health to a whole new level, so we’ve decided one way we can do that is via the Daniel Fast.
We’d thought we share the guidelines for the fast + how we plan to make the full 21 days on it!
Junk you can’t eat:
- Iodized salt
- Sweeteners
- Meat
- Dairy products
- Breads, pasta, flour, crackers (unless made from sprouted ancient grains)
- Cookies and other baked goods
- Oils
- Juices
- Coffee
- Energy drinks
- Gum
- Mints
- Candy
Goodies you can eat:
Beverages
- Water only — it must be purified/filtered; spring or distilled water is best
- Homemade almond milk, coconut water, coconut kefir and vegetable juice
Vegetables (should form the basis of the fast)
- Fresh or cooked
- May be frozen and cooked but not canned
Fruits (consume in moderation 1–3 servings daily)
- Fresh and cooked
- Ideally low glycemic index fruits like stone fruits, apples, berries, cherries and citrus fruits
- May be dried but should not contains sulfites, added oils or sweeteners
- May be frozen but not canned
Whole grains (consume in moderation and ideally sprouted)
- Brown rice, oats quinoa, millet, amaranth, buckwheat, barley cooked in water
Beans & Legumes (consume in moderation)
- Dried and cooked in water
- May be consumed from can as long as no salt or other additives are contained and the only ingredients are beans and water
Nuts & Seeds (sprouted are best)
- Raw, sprouted or dry roasted with no salt added
Praying for these things during the fast:
A closer relationship with God | New anointing to reach others through the gifts He has given us | Direction for Beacon Threads via the designs and accessories we will add to the shop | To be a better spouse/parent/sibling/friend than we were last year

Thank you for sharing this! I plan on doing the Daniel’s Fast eventually, but FIRST, I am fasting from carbs & sugars because they have come
to be my biggest addiction and make up most of my diet. I am fasting & praying for my children to walk in who they are called to be, who they were CREATED TO BE by God. I am praying against worldly influences and against the enemy who wants to steal, kill & destroy their destinies. Our God has a plan for their lives. He wants to prosper them. I pray that they will WALK in this TRUTH & let their light shine amongst men.
I want to do this fast but I’m fasting from Chocolate one of my big addictions. I’m wanting to grow more with and in Christ but I always feel like I’m not enough for Him.
